  Pleading The Blues was originally recorded on Buddy Guy's French Label, Isabel Records in and was not released in the US until Evidence Records acquired it's distribution rights in The CD features Buddy Guy on lead guitar, Buddy's brother, Phil Guy on rhythm guitar, Ray "Killer" Allison on drums, J.W. Williams on bass and Junior Wells on harmonica and vocals/5(9).

  Recorded on Halloween night in , this pairs up Wells and Guy in a fashion that hasn't been heard since Hoodoo Man Blues, their first, and best collaboration. Solid backing by the Philip Guy band (Buddy's brother) makes this album a rare treat.

  Junior Wells (born December 9, in Memphis, Tennessee, died January 15, ), born Amos Wells Blakemore Jr., was a blues vocalist and harmonica player based in Chicago. He made his first recordings for States in and continued to record regularly up until his death, from often in the company of guitarist Buddy Guy.
